Controlled conditions

Phenotyping platforms in (semi-)controlled conditions for high-resolution and high-throughput phenomics

Platforms located in greenhouses or growth chambers that allow the investigation of the genetic variability of measured plant traits as a response to well-defined environmental conditions (i.e. abiotic and biotic conditions). These platforms are defined by a high level of characterization and/or simulation of environmental conditions and the capacity to manipulate these. These platforms use often non-invasive techniques (often imaging) of specific organs or of whole plants.

Above: Deep phenotyping platforms with structural and functional imaging for basic mechanistic understanding and the identification of novel traits such as topographic platform

Below: Platforms for the characterization of shoot and root architecture such as high throughput in, allowing genetic analyses of measured traits, for example through association mapping or comparison of genotypes differing in specific markers
