Information Systems - survey
Plant phenotyping installations display a high level of data heteogeneity : those in controlled conditions gather information on individual plants at time steps of a few hours to one day, those in heavily equipped fields gather information based on detailed imaging on canopies at time-steps of days, and those in fields with lean phenotyping gather information on canopies at time steps of weeks.
EMPHASIS-PREP develops an inventory of local information systems by collecting available data exchange protocols, data formats, recorded metadata, and the types of databases used for storing phenotypic and environmental data. We will then analyse the available systems to create a map of existing information systems, that will be the base for identifying :
- the adequate level of abstraction that will allow connection between related variables at different scales
- the minimum requirements needed for inclusion in an EMPHASIS e-Infrastructure
