Governance
EMPHASIS, the European Infrastructure for Plant Phenotyping, relies on the active collaboration of various bodies to function successfully and sustainably. The structure and interactions within EMPHASIS are illustrated below.

Interim General Assembly
Interim General Assembly (IGA) constitutes the governing body of EMPHASIS RI. It is composed of ministry and scientific representatives from country states which support it. the development of EMPHASIS. Currently the IGA constitutes 10 member states.

- Current IGA Vice-Chair: Silvana Moscatelli, National Research Council of Italy
Coordination Office
The Coordination Office consists of the supporting staff for the Director-General, tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of the EMPHASIS RI and providing support to the Director-General, the Interim General Assembly, as well as the National Nodes part of EMPHASIS.
National Node
An EMPHASIS National Node is a body representing its national research institutes and infrastructures within an EMPHASIS member country.
Advisory Board(s)
The Advisory Board(s) play a pivotal role in overseeing and advising the scientific, ethical, industrial, technical, and managerial excellence of EMPHASIS activities, offering valuable guidance to the Interim General Assembly.
