Life Sciences RI
European Life Science Research Infrastructures (LS RIs) play a pivotal role in advancing life sciences by offering researchers from both academia and industry access to cutting-edge resources and expertise.
These infrastructures form pan-European networks, with institutes located across multiple countries. Each LS RI is made up of a central hub, which coordinates the infrastructure, and several national nodes—research institutes that provide specialized services and support.
LS RIs offer a wide array of services, including expert consultations, access to biological and chemical samples, animal models, data analysis tools, and state-of-the-art facilities. These services are supported by highly skilled technicians, enabling researchers to make significant strides in their work. By providing access to these resources, LS RIs are instrumental in accelerating innovation within the life sciences.
To enhance collaboration and drive progress in the life sciences field, the LS-RI Cluster was established. This initiative unites 13 Life Science Research Infrastructures (LS RIs), including EMPHASIS, to foster cooperation and accelerate the advancement of research infrastructures critical to life sciences.
