EMPHASIS admitted to MBA course on Research Infrastructure Management

Two members of the EMPHASIS-Prep Coordination and Support Office have been admitted to the Executive Masters in Management of Research Infrastructures programme (EMMRI) at the University of Milano-Bicocca ( ).

Offering a mix of face-to-face and online modules, the Masters programme is tailored towards the needs of busy executives looking to acquire additional skills and competencies required to successfully manage research infrastructures (see figure of modules below). It was developed within RItrain (, an EU-funded Horizon 2020 project aimed at improving and professionalising training for research infrastructure managers and leaders, and is coordinated by the University of Milano-Bicocca. The idea is to train the new generation of executives of national and international research infrastructures, equipping them with state-of-the-art high level managerial and leadership skills tailored to the needs of scientific service providers.

Out of 115 applicants in total, 25 participants have been admitted to this MBA programme, with Roland Pieruschka and Sven Fahrner (both Forschungszentrum Jülich) representing EMPHASIS as only participating infrastructure in its preparatory phase.
