Belgium: Second Official Belgian Plant Phenotyping Network Meeting


On 27 March, the second official BPPN meeting took place at KU Leuven. 

The network meeting was organized for all previous and new members of the network and was designed to inform the Belgian plant phenotyping community with the current state of the network, the progress and activities of EMPHASIS-Prep and the recent developments of EMPHASIS. There were over 20 plant phenotyping researchers participating form both the public and the private sector, and intensive discussions were held to identify the needs of the Belgian plant phenotyping community and the future position of BPPN within EMPHASIS. Furthermore, two members of the network, Ann Cuypers of University of Hasselt and Maarten Vanderstukken from SESVanderhave, explained in detail the plant phenotyping activities in the respective institutes, and members of PhenomUK (Sonny Rathod & Richard Traini) talked about their experience in setting up the national plant phenotyping network in the United Kingdom.
